Raptors Earn Second Place in 2021 Season

#16, Nikki Creasey

The Raptors ended their season with a 2-2 tie against the visiting Penfield Strikers.

Abby Scanlan would score the lone goal of the first half. After winning possession in the midfield, Scanlan fought off her two defenders to get in 1v1 and beat the Penfield keeper.

Alezya Brown would double the Raptors' lead in the second half with an assist from Scanlan. Scanlan hit a great shot to th far post, just barely staying out and coming off the post. Brown was crashing the play and was there to clean up the rebound and get another one by Penfield's defense and goalkeeper. Penfield would come back in the final minutes, putting two past Raptors' goalkeeper, Sydney Mulka, to tie the game.

The Raptors' defense of Charley London, Aurora Serafin, Julie Coble, Halee Passarell, and Olivia Radford played an outstanding game to limit the Strikers to only a couple chances.

Each earning a point in the tie, the Strikers finish with 26 points with the Raptors right behind them with 25. The Raptors finished the season with an overall record of 8-1-1, scoring 42 goals on the season, and only conceding 9.

The players will prepare for their respective upcoming fall seasons. Olivia Radford will be entering her second year playing for St. John Fisher, Halee Passarell will be starting her first year playing for Finger Lakes CC, and Claire Squicciarini will be entering her first season at Alfred University. The remaining players will compete for Albion High School and Kendall High School. We wish them luck as they move forward!
